My Review of Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair - Tan

Toys R Us

I had read and heard good recommendations of this chair, but it does not work well for us. My daughter is chubby, so the tray has to sit on the farthest setting, which means that she has lots of space for dropping food at her sides since the tray doesn't curve, and she can't reach the end of the tray. She can also push the tray off when she pushes hard. We removed the chair cover because it was just a mess to clean and food got stuck underneath it. We do baby-led weaning, so we may use the chair a little differently than most people. She didn't start eating food other than breastmilk until after 6 months. When she did start on food, we didn't spoon-feed; she picked up and ate regular food herself. The tray was up to her armpits, so we piled some towels underneath her. The recline didn't make any sense to me until recently (at 9-months) she has fallen asleep while eating a few times, and then i could tip her back and let her nap. The tray says it's dishwasher-safe, but it's too big to fit in any normal dishwasher. The seat and tray are easy enough to wipe clean, though. We have a smaller seat that folds up and we keep in the car for when we eat out.
